Spotlight: MCFI

2021-01-07T16:13:34-06:00May 1st, 2017|

The Milwaukee Center for Independence (MCFI) offers critical services to our great community for children and adults with special needs. Their mission? Assist individuals and families with special needs to better live and work in the community. West Allis Blue was consulted to help with branded environment elements for a facility remodel for the MCFI Childer’s Center.

Our team worked for several weeks with our design staff to help the interior designers craft a plan to meet the final environmental goals. We designed, produced, and installed frosted vinyl window graphics, custom printed Dreamscape wall coverings, custom printed and CNC cut wall vinyl birch trees with leaves on painted drywall, custom printed wrapped gallery canvas, and a dimensional acrylic sign. We are grateful to be able to contribute to the experience at such a wonderful facility!

Spotlight: Explorium Brewpub

2021-01-07T16:13:34-06:00February 20th, 2017|

There is an exciting new craft brew pub at Southridge Mall in Milwaukee. The Explorium Brewpub opened just a few weeks ago and we were thrilled to be a part of the project team to bring the space together.

From the menus to giant wall graphics, our team jumped at the chance to help with any printing needs during the fast-paced construction project. We contributed several environmental graphics projects including dimensional lettering, two custom built LED halo lit signs, vinyl wall graphics, vinyl glass graphics, and even the vinyl lettering on the brewing tanks. We also produced huge CNC cut paint stencils for the team to paint logos on walls and doors. The space turned out spectacular and made the perfect match to Explorium Brewpub’s superb beer and food. We recommend all our friends check it out!

Graphics Project at UW-Madison

2021-01-07T16:13:34-06:00January 9th, 2017|

If you’ve ever stepped foot on the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison, then you know that it’s a pretty special place. From the sprawling Bascom Hill to the iconic Monona terrace, the campus is decorated with a plethora of both natural and architectural elements designed to educate, inspire and proliferate one thing: “The Wisconsin Idea”.

Silver, sleek and modern, the 1848 Building is one such example. Situated on old University Avenue, the four-story building has served as the home base of the UW Foundation since September 26, 1994. Recently, the Kenton Peters-designed building underwent a major remodel. Our team at West Allis Blue was on hand to help produce and install art and images that represented “The Wisconsin Idea” on each of the building’s four floors.

The entire project was completed in four phases by our very own in-house installers. Given the size and scope of this project, having our own in-house install team proved invaluable as it allowed us the flexibility to work around the schedules of construction and furniture installation teams who were also participating in the remodel. For example, once the glass was installed, up went a graphic. And a day before furniture was placed, our printed wall covering was already firmly on the wall! We credit our in-house install team for keeping us on track and on schedule for this project.

As part of our service, we had a full consultation with the client before the project began and recommend styles and materials for maximum results with responsible costs. West Allis Blue custom-cut frosted film to cover over 50 windows and glass panes. All told, the project included wayfinding signage, vinyl glass screening, dimensional lettering, digitally printed wall coverings, acrylic graphic panels, and CNC-cut vinyl applied to drywall.

Below, check out a few of snaps the team took of the finished projects. Call us today or visit our website for a free quote on your upcoming environmental branding project.

Bass Boat Wrap Completed and on the Water!

2021-01-07T16:13:35-06:00July 7th, 2016|

From conceptual design to real-life.. and on the water. Couple photos to show the new Pinnacle Engineering Group sponsored bass boat that you can see fishing in many regional bass tournaments this summer. Our design team was able to hit the mark with the “fire” design concept and we were able to get in wrapped and lettered in a couple days. Fun project to have in the shop. Thanks for your business and trust in our team.  For this project, we utilized premium 3M Controltac graphic film paired with premium 3M conformable laminate.  These are the best wrapping materials available on the planet.  The 3m Controltac film conforms to surfaces with heat – the use of a heat gun and torch and skilled hands allow the printed material to stretch and conform the vehicle’s surface – in this case a molded fiberglass Nitro bass boat hull.   The Pinnacle Engineering logos on this project are CNC cut out of custom colored 3M Reflective Graphic Film.  The reflective properties of this film provide a spectacular looking effect when lights are shined on the boat at night.  Most reflective film applications involve safety concerns – like work trucks and construction trailers that stop or are parked near roadways – in this case we used the film to create a cool looking effect on this premium wrap project.

New Custom Printed Office Graphics for Denali Ingredients in New Berlin, WI

2021-01-07T16:13:37-06:00June 17th, 2016|

We were happy to partner with a great local company that produces awesome tasting products with some fresh custom printed office graphics.  Check out some of the tasty graphics we came up with.  We offered graphic design, production, and install for custom frosted glass graphics, custom etched window glass, custom printed and cut drywall vinyl, custom color printed wallpaper, and even some CNC cut rigid signage as well.   3m dusted crystal vinyl installation on glass offers many benefits to end users over true acid-etching of glass.  The look of vinyl etched glass is nearly identical and can be attained at roughly half the cost of a traditional etching.  Another huge advantage to etched vinyl is the fact that it can be removed without having to replace glass panels, panes, or windows.  Yet another advantage to frosted window vinyl is the fact that it can be installed onsite any time after the glass has been installed at a construction site. We are proud to be a local graphics partner for growing companies customizing office spaces in the Milwaukee area and all over South Eastern Wisconsin.
